Knotacle
Knotacle is the iOS application that promotes bars/clubs as well as gives the users an incentive to frequent the businesses promoted on the platform.
User Interface
Knotacle wanted an app UI that would blend against the high resolution imagery their clients supplied for each bar/nightclub entry listing. I created an agnostic layout that allowed the pertinent information to display in scrimmed boxes. The responsive website doubled as a management tool for clients to schedule specials and events and a marketing page for users downloading the software.
Identity
Knotacle wanted a nautical logo given the namesake of the startup. I settled on the anchor icon which inspires nautical themes and also works as a metaphor for users stationing themselves at various venues on the mobile application. The color is a soft indigo and purple blend, selected because it softens easily when contrasted against client/venue imagery.
